Bar Rafaeli Biography

Jewish supermodel Bar Rafaeli was born on June 4, 1985, in the Israeli countryside. Her parents owned a horse ranch and lived a relatively quiet life, but Bar’s mother, Tsipi, was interested in getting her daughter into commercials.

When she was only 8 months old, Bar first appeared in a television commercial, thus beginning her career as a model. Her work was halted for a brief period when she wore braces, but by the age of 15, she was modeling regularly and appearing in fashion campaigns for the likes of Castro and Pilpel, two Israeli fashion brands.

This early modeling work led to catalog shoots and eventually to full-blown cover shoots for popular European magazines like French ELLE and Italian GQ. Ultimately, this modeling work culminated with appearances in Sports Illustrated and Maxim, thus solidifying Bar’s position as an international supermodel.
