via GawkerWe told you about Jimmy Kimmel thrashing Gawker’s Emily Gould when he recently subbed for Larry King, and his condescension towards “amateurs” with better senses of humor. Now, it seems that Jimmy is backpedaling on some of his more ludicrous statements during the interview, such as he “doesn’t know anyone who would advertise on Web sites like hers.”
It turns out Kimmel’s own show, “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” buys ad space on three blogs similar to Gawker – A Socialite’s Life, Egotastic and The Superficial. Now Kimmel’s backtracked, telling The Post’s Marianne Garvey, “Larry’s suspenders were very tight on me, so I didn’t complete my sentence. I have nothing against Web sites, online blogs or celebrity gossip. I was referring specifically to a site that encourages anyone with a cell phone to slander and stalk people.”
Let’s not be too hard on Jimmy. According to Stuff magazine, he has a Long Island Ice Tea before every show, and his favorite band is Huey Lewis and the News.
Now isn’t that short-bus special?
